There are many ways that you can stay fit and healthy. Maybe you are on the road to a better life are now considering a good diet.

Answer to all the questions asked is “Paleo recipes” or paleo diet; also known as Paleolithic diet which is usually related to Stone Age or caveman diet. These are recipes or diet plans which used by the people of old times. These ancestral recipes consist of nuts, fruits, vegetables, meat, fish and roots and prohibit the use of grains, dairy and oil products. All the recipes are unique in its benefits and all their ingredients have their own distinctive importance and significance. How they help to construct striking body structure discussed in following paragraphs.

Main elements of paleo recipes are fish, nuts, roots, fruits, raised meat and vegetables. Let us go through each individual element and check what they are capable of.

Fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are extremely rich in providing vitamins and an excellent source of energy for humans too. Vitamin B1 is important for cells for converting carbohydrates into energy and it is found in grapefruit, grapes, orange, guava, pineapple and watermelon in intense quantity. Moreover, vegetables like Brussels sprouts, green pepper, kale and Swiss chard contains excessive amount of vitamin C. This vitamin is most important of all the vitamins. It provides strength to cells and tissues against damages of oxidation.

Meat

Meat from cows, chicken and goats are much important for providing protein to human body. They are a unique source of extreme quantity of vitamin B (also known as riboflavin). Vitamin B plays vital role in body growth. Is also provides the source to carbohydrates to release energy from them as well as helps in red cells production and reproduction. In addition, meat also contain pantothenic acid which is needed for metabolism process.

Fish

Fish is helpful for healthy and fresh life because it is the finest source of protein, vitamin B and D and omega 3. Omega 3′s fatty acids are very supportive for maintaining and increasing the metabolism process in human body as well as providing strength to immune system.

Nuts and roots

These are the source of protein, vitamins and exclusively provide rich minerals which are extremely useful for human body. Described elements give an attractive shape to the body and construct it into charming and good figures.

Food and eatables which are prohibited in paleo recipes are grains, oil and dairy products. Now let us see that why paleo plans disallow these foods.

Dairy and oil products

If we starts pouring water into a bottle (glass made) without considering its capacity then after a certain time this water flow breaks the bottle. In the same way when we use dairy and oil products without taking into account out body limits then it shows negative results which possibly are not in our favor.

Cow milk is a rich source of calcium and research shows that bones fractures cases are registered more, in those countries where cow’s milk is used in excessive quantity than the countries where milk is used in a normal and body’s acceptable quantity. Likewise, when we eat deep fried things we are caught by cholesterol problem which made our blood thick and create difficulties in blood circulation which leads to heart and lungs problems.

Summing up, paleo recipes allow us to eat only those foods which supply energy to our body and built it into a gorgeous and attention catching personality, no matter what quantity of these products we utilize.

Turkey

Here’s a really good brine recipe with detailed instructions from allrecipes.com. These instructions call for you to put the turkey in a bucket overnight in your fridge, but I know that I wouldn’t be able to fit a big bucket in my fridge. You can buy a brining bag at grocery stores, instead. Here are some instructions for doing it that way. Brining will make a moister, more flavorful turkey every time. After you brine it, you can cook it whichever way you like – roast it, BBQ it.. Just don’t deep fry it in vegetable oil!

Gravy

This recipe is from Jim Lytton, my boyfriend’s dad. Thanks, Jim!

innards and neck from turkey
4 cups water
4 cups (1 quart) chicken stock
drippings from turkey
5-6 large carrots
5 stalks celery
1 medium onion
2 large cloves garlic
same herb mix you used on turkey
salt to taste (optional)

Dice the carrots, onion, and celery and mince the garlic. Save the innards and the neck from the turkey. Combine the water, stock, vegetables, herbs of choice, innards and neck in a large pot and heat on medium high until it starts to boil. Turn it down to low for a couple of hours until it starts to thicken and the meat starts to fall off the neck. Remove the neck and cut off the meat from it – discard the cartilage and bone. Place the neck meat back in the pot and blend with a submergible blender until smooth. Alternatively, you can use a regular blender. When your turkey is done roasting, place the drippings (skim off the big fat globules) into the gravy mixture and incorporate with the blender until smooth. At the very end, add salt to taste.

Paleo Diet: Chocolate is Harmless?

This article will look at a number of chocolate facts and go over its many pros and cons. Afterwards, you should be able to determine whether continuing to consume chocolate goes against or along with your goals of following the Paleo diet. Take note that the facts outlined here are general in nature, applying to most healthy individuals. Remember that some people react to chocolate and chocolate-containing foods in specific ways, so your decision shall depend upon your circumstances.

Where It’s From

Chocolate is a processed food taken from the seeds of the cacao tree. The cocoa bean, when fermented, yields cocoa butter and solids, which are used to prepare dark chocolate. Cocoa butter on the other hand, is used to produce white chocolate.

For people on the Paleo diet, chocolate can cause problems when mixed with milk, resulting in the popular milk chocolate. Milk and high amounts of sugar as you know, are not welcome in any decent Paleo diet meal plan.

Chocolate Advantages

Dark chocolate is rich in minerals such as manganese, iron, copper and magnesium. It’s a good snack to ease cravings for sweet foods, but contains very low sugar levels. Chocolate is also high in beneficial antioxidants, the body’s solution against the proliferation of damaging free radicals.

Chocolate Disadvantages

Chocolate contains high levels of phytic acid, which binds to important minerals such as magnesium, iron and calcium, thus preventing the body from absorbing them. Chocolate is also sometimes prepared by adding soy lecithin, and most soy is genetically modified, and it’s not on the Paleo diet anyway. For those who eat large quantities of chocolate, the sugar content can quickly add up. Chocolate also contains oxalates, which can hasten the forming of kidney stones.

Conclusion

There’s no doubt that chocolate is an enjoyable food eaten mainly for its diversity and enjoyment, and not its health effects. It’s a great and relatively harmless addition to the Paleo diet, and when compared to grains, certain vegetable oils and sugar, is far more beneficial to your health. To be safe, make sure to stick with dark chocolate made with more than 50 percent cocoa solids and low levels of sugar.

This Paleo Blueberry Muffins Recipe is 100% Paleolithic and Caveman approved! For the people new to the Paleolithic or Caveman diet: The Paleo diet is a diet that gets us back to the basics. The Paleo diet is high in fresh meats, eggs, nuts, and veggies.

Once upon a time, when we were hunters and garthers we didn’t have all the processed and modified food we have now. Things such as Pop-Tarts didn’t exist, and we were much healthier because of it.

Walter L. Voegtlin a Gastroenterologist and author, was one of the very first people to start recommending the Paleolithic diet way back in 1975. Voegtlin published a book that argued that humans are carnivorous animals and that the ancestral Paleolithic diet was that of a carnivore. Mainly fats and protein, with a very limited amount of carbohydrates.

Since then many more people have come forward to support the Paleolithic (aka caveman) diet. Near the end of the 1990s, many doctors, nurses and nutritionist started to recommend a return the original Paleolithic diet. Which helps people stay away from modified sugars and artificial flavors that have been proven to cause harm to our bodies. The Paleolithic diet is a great way to cut out all processed foods from your diet.

Below is my favorite Paleo Breakfast recipe of all-time, Paleo Blueberry Muffins! Enjoy.

Paleo Blueberry Muffins

1/4 cup Almond Flour
2 Tbsp Coconut Flour
2 Tbsp Arrowroot Flour
1/4 tsp Sea Salt
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
3 Eggs
1.5 Tbsp Honey (raw)
2.5 Tbsp Applesauce
2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
3/4 cup Blueberries
Coconut Oil Spray

You will be baking your Paleo Blueberry Muffins at 350 degrees so go ahead and preheat your oven.

Combine the flours, salt, and baking powder.

In a bullet, combine the eggs, honey, applesauce, coconut oil and vanilla.

Add the wet to the dry, then fold in the blueberries.

Spray down a large set of muffin tins with coconut oil. Fill each tin (6 total) of the way full (unless you like really big heavy muffins, they go a full ).

I add a little something to the top of my Paleo Blueberry Muffins…

(optional but highly recommended)
1 Tbsp Shredded Coconut (unsweetened)
1 Tbsp Sugar (raw) or Coconut Crystals (if you don’t do the sugar)
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Nutmeg

Sprinkle this mixture on top of the muffins before they go into the oven. Then bake for 20-25 minutes.

Paleo diet is by no means veggie-friendly. It’s heavy on the protein and fat, and as we’ll see, most of the common vegetarian sources of protein are off limits. Does that mean you can’t be a Paleo-vegetarian? I don’t think so. When eating on the Paleo diet, it can sometimes be frustrating for vegetarians who are unable to eat grains or beans on the plan. Here are a few vegetarian tips that can help you reach your Paleo goals. Welcome to my next diet experiment.

1) Think “meaty” without the meat. One of the best options for creating meaty dishes without using beef or chicken is to use mushrooms. Fortunately, mushrooms come in a wide variety of tastes and textures. Some are smooth and rubbery, while others are bumpy and heavier. Large mushrooms can be sliced into thick patties and grilled for a barbecue that would make even meat lovers jealous.

2) Vegetarian cooking does not mean only vegetables. When making your favorite dishes, consider adding fruits for an extra flavor kick and a little sweetness. Wilted spinach with blueberries, fennel bulbs with grilled pears, cucumber and watermelon salad are all options you might not have considered yet. Be creative with your veggie and fruit combinations and you will be an expert Paleo vegetarian in the kitchen.

3) Bananas are a great addition to just about any Paleo dessert to create a smooth, creamy texture. You can freeze bananas and then puree with berries to create “ice cream” that you can enjoy to your heart’s content.

4) Are you bored with your salads? Kick it up a notch by making new and exciting dressings from your fruits and spices. Blend an orange, lemon, berries and some fresh mint for a refreshing topping. How about blending cucumber and dill for dipping vegetables? Upgrade your food processor or blender since it is a kitchen item you definitely will get maximum use out of as a Paleo vegetarian.

5) Do your fresh herbs go bad before you get to use them? To keep this from happening in the future, buy an ice-cube tray for very small-sized cubes. Finely chop your herbs such as basil, dill, or parsley. Mix the herbs or herb blends with a small amount of oil. Place the mixture into the individual cubes of the ice tray and cover. Freeze overnight. Remove cubes and place into snack-sized plastic baggies for freezer storage. Add cubes to your skillet or pot whenever your recipes calls for them. Now you can enjoy your summertime herbs all year-round.

With some careful planning, creating new and stimulating ideas for your menus can be a cinch. While it is sometimes difficult, making the commitment to be a Paleo vegetarian is a wonderful gift to you and your health.

A lot of diet regimens are being created by nutritionists and diet experts from time to time. These diet programs not only aim to help people in their search for a healthy lifestyle but it also reminds them that indeed, they need to be healthy and stop abusing their bodies. One of the proven effective diet programs out there is the Paleo caveman diet. If you are after a healthy lifestyle and a fitter, stronger body, then you should get as much Paleo diet information as you can.

The Paleo Diet: What it is in a Nutshell?

The main selling point of the Paleo diet is how it can make one as strong and as healthy as the cavemen gatherers and hunters who walked the earth millions of years ago. This diet involves the elimination of any food that the cavemen did not eat in their time.

Why should you follow the caveman diet?

The Paleo caveman diet is not just another fad diet. It is actually backed by scientific studies and proofs. Essentially, when the world changed and evolved, the human genes did not evolve along. According to the developers of this diet, the human genes take millions of years before it can become accustomed to a new eating lifestyle. This is the reason why food allergies manifest in some people. Processed and packaged foods have already been modified to the extent that it can no longer be processed well by the body – essentially, it will not help your body at all, according to the principles of Paleo diet.

To simplify, the Paleo diet encourages the consumption of foods that the cavemen ate in their time. These are foods that were naturally available – those that were obviously edible. They did not know how to farm, breed and milk animals and process their food in general. Thus, they only consumed what they know are edible. Their bodies, as products of evolution, were constructed in a way that it can receive and process the foods available in nature. Therefore, since humans today still have the same genetic structure as their human ancestors who lived hundreds of thousands of years ago, they are supposed to eat what the first humans ate to get ultimate strength and health.

Paleo Foods

The Paleo diet essentially takes you back to the basics. If you already understand the idea behind this diet, you might have already thought of what foods can you actually consume when you are on this diet.

Cavemen of the Paleolithic Era were hunters and gatherers. They hunted game animals and caught poultry and seafood. However, since they did not know of animal husbandry yet, they did not milk the animals. Meanwhile, they ate eggs as well but only at a minimal rate. If you are to follow the caveman diet, it would be best if you can consume meat from livestock and poultry that were bred and fed naturally. The same goes with seafood, too.

The cavemen also ate fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Virtually all fruits are allowed in the diet, but if you are after weight loss, you might want to minimize your intake of sweet fruits. Meanwhile, all vegetables aside from starchy ones such as potato and sweet potato are also allowed. Nuts and seeds that are naturally available can also be consumed.

All of us at one time or other have been on a detox diet and there are many of them, but finding one that is actually healthy is difficult. The Paleo diet is a natural detox diet and can be used in complete confidence without experiencing hunger or without any side affects.

We ingest a tremendous amount of chemicals and harmful additives in our modern diet. Science can make a quality dog food that can keep rover happy and healthy for many years, but science falls short when it comes to food for humans. Health of humans is not the priority with food science if it was we would not have the diseases that plague our world. In the Paleolithic era, man did not have diseases because he ate the natural foods of the earth that contained no toxins. Science’s main priority is to engineer a food product that can be made inexpensively and have a good taste. Taste is what sells, could you live on a diet of Cheetos, McDonald’s fries, and Pepsi? They taste good, but they definitely lack nutrition.

So now and then with our modern diet we begin to feel run down and listless. Our immune system starts to fail and we are then open to disease or illness. Generally our first thought is to go to the doctor, but we never consider that our diet is to blame. For whatever reason we trust our food sources and we never consider that they are only out there to sell you something without any regard for your health. Health seems to be in another category, namely the medical field.

What happens in our bodies is that the liver, our first line of defense against toxins cannot handle packaged and processed foods, preservatives, and other additives used by our food processors. When it gets overwhelmed it must let some of these harmful toxins pass into the blood stream causing mayhem in our other organs. After a while disease begins to set in and our organs, such as our kidneys and heart begin to malfunction.

The Paleo Diet is a natural detox diet because it makes use of the natural foods of the earth. If it comes in a box it is not part of this diet because our ancestors, the caveman, would not have eaten it. They survived on the foods of the area, namely fruits, vegetables and the animals of the forest. This diet, which is more of a life change will immediately begin strengthening your immune system and getting your organs back on track. You will gain back your energy, your metabolism will begin functioning correctly and you will even begin loosing weight. The Paleo diet is a natural diet that does not require a doctor’s consent and is a natural defense against disease. Following it will give you a healthier life and add quality years to your life. The
